Cape San Blas, Day 4

7/21 - We all woke up and did not too much. I took care of Michaele for a bit in the morning, everyone else was asleep. The rest of the morning was me debating how I was going to get home, who I was going to go with and when I was going to leave. Stupid Kelby. Ultimately, I decided to stay with Pat and fly out of Pensacola around the same time on Thursday. Once we all decided to get going, we made our way to the BP to get gear for scalloping. We all bought matching peace bracelets. Michaele - light green, Lindsey - dark pink, Patrick - black, me - white. We bought a little rafter (Explorer 100!), four nets and a dive flag that we never used and completely wasted money on. Before we made it to scalloping, we went back to the Indian Pass Raw Bar for oysters, since they were all out Sunday night. Lindsey and I had baked, Michaele had steamed and badass Patrick had them raw. For the road, Lindsey bought me a slice of key lime pie. Delicious. Why did I not get into key lime until recently? Haha, we made our over to the scallop area and ventured out in to the water. We waked about a mile out before we encountered our first scallop. But once we found one, it was easy sailing the rest of the way. Well, for Lindsey and I at least. She caught 50, I caught 48. Patrick caught about 20 (with Lindsey's help at the end) and Michaele caught 13. Well, her numbers are skewed because she gave up half way and laid in the Explorer 100 while I pulled her through the water. Lazy. Haha, but it was adorable. Eventually, Pat and Lindsey pulled away from us on the 2 mile walk back. It was fun alone time for us, picking on each other and just talking. For the last 10 minutes, we didn't talk. And it's kind of neat being with someone where silence isn't awkward. Michaele pointed that out to me before on the phone, and she's right. We were both in our own heads, comfortable with each others presence and were not awkward because we weren't talking. I like her. Finally, we got to shore and we deflated the Explorer 100 and put all the scallops in the cooler.

From the scallop cove, we headed to the Piggly Wiggly to get some groceries for dinner. Pat went in by himself because everyone else was ashamed of how they looked. Lindsey and Michaele decided to be white trash and deflated the Explorer 100 entirely in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. In their bathing suits. Haha, then the girls brought beers out. So, there we were...sitting in a BMW in a parking lot...drinking. Pat comes back and pops his head in the window "so I go shopping, and you bastards are sitting in her drinking." Hahaha, it was perfect. We left the store with the groceries and headed back to the house. Michaele showered, Lindsey got stuff organized and Pat and I shucked the scallops while drinking. What a pain in the ass, but fun. Lindsey helped us for a while, then her and Michaele went to gather fire wood and get a pit ready for later. After, we all were inside while Pat prepared dinner. I had music going, starting off with hits from The Lonely Island. Hilarious. The girls peeled shrimp, which was first my job but I was in too good of a mood to be contained. Had a pasta with a whit sauce with scallops and shrimp made by Chef Pat. It was mighty delicious. Don't really remember too much at dinner, apparently I was doing impressions of everyone who didn't make it to the beach. I rule. My memory came back as we headed out to the bon fire. I sat there for about 20 minutes, commenting on the cool children with glow sticks. And then, out of nowhere, I hit a wall. Bad. I needed to go inside and lay down, I fell asleep minutes later. About an hour after that, the rest of the gang was inside. Michaele woke me up, but I was dying. I started shaking and felt horrible. I went outside, did the deed and then came back inside feeling much better. Michaele and I even managed to drunkenly talk for a while. Go me. Passed out, then was woken up at 6:15 by Lindsey coming in the room going "Michaele, it's 6:15" Michaele was supposed to be awake over an hour ago to meet her family near Ocala (five hours away). She got ready, then we kissed three last times and by 6:45 she was gone. Ah, dammit. I fell back asleep, woke up at 9 with a massive headache. Fell back and sleep was awake at 11 feeling very refreshed. Oh, what a night.
