Cape San Blas, Day 5

7/23 - So, here we are at the final full day of the Bitch Reunion. Michaele has been gone since 6:45 AM, but I am doing a good job keeping it together. At 11, I woke up and started watching TV. Watched the end of an episode of Overhaulin' then an entire one after it. Pat and Linds woke up sometime between 12 and 1. After doing nothing, we decided to do nothing on the beach. Came in for lunch around 3:30, then headed back out for more bronzing. Came back inside around 5, started watching some TV then decided to watch Into the Wild. Love it. After that, Pat made us burgers for dinner. Then we put it Nacho Libre. Followed it up with Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I went to bed towards the end of Sarah Marshall because I was coughing and tired. This day was pretty low key, as is evident by the length of this post. But it was still a good time. A nice day of nothing, I love it.

Cape San Blas, Day 4

7/21 - We all woke up and did not too much. I took care of Michaele for a bit in the morning, everyone else was asleep. The rest of the morning was me debating how I was going to get home, who I was going to go with and when I was going to leave. Stupid Kelby. Ultimately, I decided to stay with Pat and fly out of Pensacola around the same time on Thursday. Once we all decided to get going, we made our way to the BP to get gear for scalloping. We all bought matching peace bracelets. Michaele - light green, Lindsey - dark pink, Patrick - black, me - white. We bought a little rafter (Explorer 100!), four nets and a dive flag that we never used and completely wasted money on. Before we made it to scalloping, we went back to the Indian Pass Raw Bar for oysters, since they were all out Sunday night. Lindsey and I had baked, Michaele had steamed and badass Patrick had them raw. For the road, Lindsey bought me a slice of key lime pie. Delicious. Why did I not get into key lime until recently? Haha, we made our over to the scallop area and ventured out in to the water. We waked about a mile out before we encountered our first scallop. But once we found one, it was easy sailing the rest of the way. Well, for Lindsey and I at least. She caught 50, I caught 48. Patrick caught about 20 (with Lindsey's help at the end) and Michaele caught 13. Well, her numbers are skewed because she gave up half way and laid in the Explorer 100 while I pulled her through the water. Lazy. Haha, but it was adorable. Eventually, Pat and Lindsey pulled away from us on the 2 mile walk back. It was fun alone time for us, picking on each other and just talking. For the last 10 minutes, we didn't talk. And it's kind of neat being with someone where silence isn't awkward. Michaele pointed that out to me before on the phone, and she's right. We were both in our own heads, comfortable with each others presence and were not awkward because we weren't talking. I like her. Finally, we got to shore and we deflated the Explorer 100 and put all the scallops in the cooler.

From the scallop cove, we headed to the Piggly Wiggly to get some groceries for dinner. Pat went in by himself because everyone else was ashamed of how they looked. Lindsey and Michaele decided to be white trash and deflated the Explorer 100 entirely in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. In their bathing suits. Haha, then the girls brought beers out. So, there we were...sitting in a BMW in a parking lot...drinking. Pat comes back and pops his head in the window "so I go shopping, and you bastards are sitting in her drinking." Hahaha, it was perfect. We left the store with the groceries and headed back to the house. Michaele showered, Lindsey got stuff organized and Pat and I shucked the scallops while drinking. What a pain in the ass, but fun. Lindsey helped us for a while, then her and Michaele went to gather fire wood and get a pit ready for later. After, we all were inside while Pat prepared dinner. I had music going, starting off with hits from The Lonely Island. Hilarious. The girls peeled shrimp, which was first my job but I was in too good of a mood to be contained. Had a pasta with a whit sauce with scallops and shrimp made by Chef Pat. It was mighty delicious. Don't really remember too much at dinner, apparently I was doing impressions of everyone who didn't make it to the beach. I rule. My memory came back as we headed out to the bon fire. I sat there for about 20 minutes, commenting on the cool children with glow sticks. And then, out of nowhere, I hit a wall. Bad. I needed to go inside and lay down, I fell asleep minutes later. About an hour after that, the rest of the gang was inside. Michaele woke me up, but I was dying. I started shaking and felt horrible. I went outside, did the deed and then came back inside feeling much better. Michaele and I even managed to drunkenly talk for a while. Go me. Passed out, then was woken up at 6:15 by Lindsey coming in the room going "Michaele, it's 6:15" Michaele was supposed to be awake over an hour ago to meet her family near Ocala (five hours away). She got ready, then we kissed three last times and by 6:45 she was gone. Ah, dammit. I fell back asleep, woke up at 9 with a massive headache. Fell back and sleep was awake at 11 feeling very refreshed. Oh, what a night.

Cape San Blas, Day 3

7/20 - Wake up with Michaele and did nothing for a bit. People showered, Pat, Crystal and I watched TV for a bit, then I left to hang with Michaele in the room for about 30 minutes. Around 1 or so, the five of us headed to the beach. After a bit of stubbornness, I decided to lather up in some sun tan lotion. I sat on Michaele in her beach chair so she could do my back, plenty of embarrassing pictures from that escapade. After more bronzing, all of us hung out in the water for about an hour. When we got ashore, Crystal said she was heading in to shower and get ready to head back to GA. I bronzed my back for a while, laying on the huge beach towel. Michaele, Lindsey and Pat all stayed out with me, each of us tanning in silence. After that, we headed to the house and Michaele made her tuna salad. It was awesome, she puts it inside of an avocado. Delicious. After, hung out on the porch for a bit, said bye to Crystal. Michaele went for a shower, so to avoid being away from her longer, I showered in the other bathroom at the same time. After our showers, we were in our room together while she tried to take a nap. After resting for an hour or two, her and I decided to get out of bed at 7:30 so we weren't keeping Pat and Lindsey waiting or anything. However, we found Pat and Lindsey asleep in the other room.

So, to my liking, I got more alone time with Michaele. She was the one that insisted we leave our room at 7:30. We hung out on the bed outside, played three games of speed. I won two of three, naturally. Even though it was my first time. Then she showed me these overdubbed Jesus videos on YouTube which were hilarious. I love clever overdubs (ala Billie Mays "Mighty Putty"). After, we decided to take a walk on the beach as the sun set. Complete perfection. I was so happy in that moment, she was beautiful as always. Principessa. We took pictures on the beach, kissed, talked about the picture she drew me and the photo project I did for her. We got back around 9 and finally Pat and Lindsey woke up. Dinner was random sutff - tuna salad, cinnamon bread, whatever was there. Linds showered, we all played some Guitar Hero for a bit after that. After random jam session, we headed to the beach for a fire. When we walked out there, the stars were unbelievable. Unlike anything I had ever seen, the sky was just covered with stars. You couldn't even make out constellations, it was breathtaking. Fire until midnight or so, then we headed in to go to sleep. Well, not really. Pat watched TV, Michaele and I laid in our bed talking. We fell asleep together sometime later. I love sleeping with her. Unfortunately, she was coughing a lot during the night and left me again. Woke up around 9 and found her on the bed outside.

Cape San Blas, Day 2

7/20/09 - To begin the day, I was woken up intermittently by Lindsey and Crystal getting ready to leave to pick up Pat from Pensacola. Find that Michaele is not in bed with me. Say hi to Crystal in my extremely dazed state, sans glasses. I wait for them to leave for Pensacola, then I wake up to go find where Michaele is. Find that Michaele left in the middle of the night because she was coughing and didn't want to wake me up. We ate breakfast and were making an effort to go to the beach, but since Michaele wasn't feeling well we opted to stay in, first played Guitar Hero World Tour, and then watched The Girl Next Door. Her first time. Awesome movie. Kelly rules. After that, put in some Arrested Development but Michaele once again fell asleep to it. I told Michaele to go get a nap in before the girls got back with Pat aronud 2 or 2:30. They party posse didn't get back until 4, though, an hour later than their ETA. I hung out by myself, watched an episode of AD then sat on the porch reading "Lamb" while listening to Animal Collective. At 4, my roomie was there, we hung out and watched TV for a bit and then I went to wake Michaele up around 4:45. Laid in bed with her for about a half hour. For dinner, we headed to the Indian Pass Raw Bar and had 2 orders of crab legs and 2 orders of shrimp. Unbelievably delicious. After dinner, we stopped at the tiki bar and Lindsey and Pat went inside to buy booze. Michaele, Crystal and I looked up information about scalloping on my iPhone in the car as we waited. They got back, Pat bought a case of Bud, Lindsey a jug of sangria and wine. As well as tubes of flavored martinis that she gave to me in a brown paper bag.

We got back to Cape San Blas, situated ourselves and headed to the beach to watch the sunset and have a photoshoot. Once the sun was down, the 5 of us sat with our feet in this hole in the sand and just talked. Around 11, we went up to the house and sat on the porch drinking, talking, looking at Cortona pictures on Lidnsey's laptop and listening to music. Michaele was falling asleep on the bed outside. I was tipsy, the other 3 were drunk. We called and talked to Sarah and Alex separately. Drunken sadness. Wish they weer there. The three drunkies decided to take a dip in the Gulf. I stayed and laid on the porch bed with Michaele. Pat came back worried about Crystal drunkenly hitting on him and whispered loudly into my ear "Help!" and Michaele and I just laughed out loud. Shortly after, Michaele and I went to bed. I was a bit tipsy, so we didn't go to sleep right away cause I had an energy and was talkative. Only thing I really remember (not because I had been drinking) was asking Michaele not to leaev me ni the middle of the night again. She didn't.

Cape San Blas, Day 1

7/18 - Woke up at 5 AM, showered and at the airport by 6:05. Fifteen minutes later and I'm already at my gate, so much for being there an hour early. Flight left at 7:00 and one nap later, I was in Atlanta. Grabbed my first ever Chick-fil-A and had breakfast. Sat at my gate and ate while listening to Outkast's ATLiens, it was like I was from Georgia. Met an older gentleman from Kentucky on the flight and talked with him all the way down to Jacksonville. The first thing he asked me after I told him I was from Milwaukee was if I was a fan of the Brewers. I told him I was, so we talked baseball for a while (he was a Cardinals fan). Then we talked NFL, Lambeau Field and who he cheers for since he lives in Kentucky (Rams or Titans). Arrived in JAX a little after noon eastern time. It took about 30-40 minutes get outside because of baggage claim. Stood outside in the sticky humidity for about 3 minutes then saw Michaele pull up. We met at the trunk of her car, I set my bags down, we hugged and then kissed on the lips. She looked incredible, black dress over a faded white hamburger t-shirt. I'll even admit that I gave her the ol up-down after we kissed. Got in the car, to a mini detour to a nearby Chick-fil-A so Michaele could go the bathroom because apparently they have clean ones, who knew? Then a little past 1, it was off to Cape San Blas! It was a five hour drive and I was being weird for the beginning of it, probably because I was tired. I could sense I was being out of it (and knew Michaele did, too). Don't worry, I snapped out of it. We listened to her iPod first, then I put on the Cortona playlist that I made for her, then showed her some Animal Collective. After that, we listened to Jim Gaffigan's "Beyond the Pale," which she liked. Then we listened to Demetri Martin's "Person," which I don't think she enjoyed that much. We made one stop the whole way, for gas, and arrived at 194 Antilles around 6 PM, although it took it us 3 tries to find the correct street. Lindsey wasn't there yet, so Michaele and explored. Went on the deck, I took my shoes and socks and then Michaele got me my flip flops from the car since I was barefoot (she's nice). Lindsey arrived 5 minutes, we all embraced and it was wonderful.

We put our stuff inside, then went to Port St. Joe because everyone was starving. Ordered a pizza and went grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly in the meantime. Got the 'za and by 7, we were eating Howie bread (from Hungry Howie's Pizza) in the car on the way back to Cape San Blas, which is only a 10 minute ride away from Port St. Joe. Got back and Michaele, Lindsey, Olive and I took a walk on the beach as the sun set. This is the second best sunset and the only sunset that can equate to Cortona's. From Room 20. Came back inside around 9 when it was dark and started watching TV. Michaele took some nighttime cough medicine because she was feeling sick, and by 10, the two of us were asleep to Wizards of Waverly Place.

Went to our room, didn't go to sleep right away. Talked, cuddled and kissed for a bit. It was a first night together in a month, what do you expect? Between 11 and midnight, our eyes were getting heavy and we were falling asleep. Right as I was losing consciousnesses, Lindsey's friend Crystal arrived and hung out with Lindsey for a bit. However, minutes after she got there, Michaele and I were both asleep. Meeting her would have to wait until tomorrow. It was a long day for the both of us.
